Where this tool fits: start with the Excipient Recommender to shortlist ingredient classes, use this Optimizer to generate and rank candidate formulations across cost/quality/manufacturability, confirm the winning candidate's operating window in QbD Safe Space, then fine-tune material cost in Cost Optimizer. Note on scoring: all three scores are computed deterministically from the candidate's actual composition -- cost from ingredient amounts, quality and manufacturability from documented excipient functional properties (compressibility, binding strength, disintegrant efficiency, lubricant hydrophobicity) and formulation-design principles (drug loading, solubility-driven disintegrant needs). This is a screening-stage estimate to prioritize which candidate to test first, not a substitute for real lab characterization -- see the itemized factor breakdown below each score.
